Sitka is a handsome fellow with a heart of gold and a personality to match! He's a sweet boy who loves nothing more than to be by your side, showering you with cuddles and affection. In his foster home, he gets along well with other dogs, though he prefers to avoid conflict unless provoked. He also seems unfazed by cats! Sitka has a gentle and easy-going nature that makes him a joy to be around. He came to us when his previous owner could no longer care for him. While we don't have his prior medical history, Sitka has since been neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and had a dental cleaning. Bloodwork and a heartworm test came back clear! We estimate Sitka to be around 7 years old, but he's got a playful spirit that belies his age. He enjoys playtime with other dogs, engaging with toys, and going for short walks, which are kept brief due to the heat and his luxurious coat. Sitka is likely a mix of Cardigan Corgi and Aussie, boasting a long, beautiful coat that requires regular grooming to prevent matting. He should not be shaved. At 39 pounds, he's a sturdy and substantial companion.
Ideal Home
Sitka would thrive in a home with adults or older children (10+) who can provide him with the attention he craves. A fenced yard is ideal, though he has good recall. If there's another dog in the home, it would be best if they are of similar size or larger, as Sitka sometimes forgets his own strength.

Sitka has no known health issues and has had a full workup including bloodwork, vaccinations, neuter, microchip, and dental cleaning.
Training & Support
Sitka is a well-behaved boy. Given his size, ensuring he interacts appropriately with other dogs is key.
