Meet Timmy Turner!

Timmy Turner is a 1-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix, though our best guess is that he's a delightful 7-pound package of scruffy charm. With his adorable wiry coat, ears that are a bit too big for his head in the cutest way, and an expressive little face, Timmy is a curious explorer who looks like he's straight out of a storybook. This little guy may be small, but he has a big personality and an even bigger sense of adventure. One of Timmy's favorite things is finding the highest spot in the room, whether it's the back of a couch, a welcoming lap, or even a shoulder! His foster mom jokes that he acts a little bit like a cat, and honestly, she's not wrong. Timmy loves observing the world from above and keeping an eye on everything happening around him. He's currently learning that life can be pretty wonderful. While he may take a moment to assess new people and situations, he's a confident little explorer who likes to investigate the world at his own pace. He's not the type to jump headfirst into everything; instead, he prefers to gather information first and then decide how he feels, which we think is pretty smart! In his foster home, Timmy enjoys being close to his people and is the perfect lap-sized companion for movie nights, work-from-home days, and cozy evenings on the couch. Once he's comfortable, he's a sweet companion who simply enjoys being near his favorite humans.

Ideal Home

Timmy would thrive in a home that appreciates quirky little dogs, cozy couch snuggles, and a companion with a good amount of personality. He's the kind of dog who will make you laugh with his unique habits, charm you with his scruffy good looks, and keep you company wherever life takes you.

Ongoing Health

Timmy is up-to-date on all his vetting, which includes DAPP with a booster, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, and he has been spayed/neutered. He is also up-to-date on flea prevention and will receive a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. A heartworm test has been performed. He is microchipped with free lifetime registration.

Training & Support

Timmy has done well meeting dogs of all sizes. While he's not particularly interested in roughhousing or playgroups, he's polite, respectful, and knows how to coexist beautifully with other dogs. His ideal canine companion would be another calm, respectful dog who understands that personal space is important sometimes. Timmy also met a kitty friend and did very well, showing curiosity but also respect. We recommend a slow introduction and possibly an overnight trial for homes with resident cats. Timmy can live as an only dog or with other dogs. If he shares a home with canine friends, he should be fed separately as he prefers not to share meals. Otherwise, he coexists well with other pets.

Transportation

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs.
