Bullseye

Bullseye is a charming 6.5-month-old, male Retriever/Pit Bull mix with an estimated DOB of January 2026. He currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to grow into a large dog, just like his mom, Wanda, who weighs about 55 pounds. Bullseye was rescued from a rural area outside of Houston with his littermates and mom, Wanda, after they were found during a Texas freeze. He's the biggest pup but also the most introverted, often observing before joining in the fun. Bullseye is a gentle and thoughtful boy who loves dinnertime, belly rubs, and snuggling. He enjoys playtime and wrestling with his siblings and is transitioning into a wonderful companion. He is potty trained but may have a few accidents as he adjusts to a new home. Bullseye is equally playful and reserved, enjoying both active play and quiet cuddle time. He has experience with other dogs and has done well with children, but his reaction to cats is unknown. He is crate-trained and is continuing to build confidence with leash walking and basic obedience.

Ideal Home

We are looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building Bullseye's confidence, and helping him mature into an exceptional adult dog. Because he is still young, we prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time. We also strongly prefer homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Bullseye, as he thrives with a canine role model. If you don't currently have another dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization through structured training classes, supervised daycare, or regular playdates.

Bullseye is up-to-date on vaccinations and has been microchipped.

Training & Support

Bullseye is potty trained but may have occasional accidents as he adjusts to a new routine. He is crate-trained and is continuing to build confidence with leash walking and basic obedience. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization is very important for his development.

• The adoption donation is $475, which includes transport.
• After completing an initial screen, you will be connected with the placement team for a video chat.
• Transports run every few weeks, and your dog will be on the next available transport once approved.
• If you cannot accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
• We are a volunteer-run rescue and appreciate serious inquiries only.
• If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please ensure they are on board before applying.
• The process includes an application, a phone interview if you are a potential fit, a video call with the foster home, a virtual home visit, and personal and vet reference checks.

Bullseye is currently located in Houston, Texas. He can be transported to an approved adopter.
