Fernando Silverio is a sweet little soul with the charm of a tiny grumpy old man and the heart of a true gentleman. He is calm and well-mannered, perfectly suited for a relaxed home where he can enjoy peaceful moments and gentle routines. Fernando is social and does well with other dogs, children, men, and women. He is friendly but shy at first, especially when receiving affection. Once he feels safe, his personality shines through with his adorable, serious little face that makes everyone smile. Because of his age, he is naturally calm and laid-back, preferring quiet companionship over chaos. He enjoys being around other dogs and coexisting peacefully, making him a great fit for a home looking for a gentle, low-energy companion. Fernando Silverio may look like a grumpy old soul, but his sweet gaze and quiet presence make him incredibly endearing. He is waiting patiently for a loving home that will understand his shyness and give him the time he needs to trust.

Ideal Home

A home with a fenced backyard, an active family that enjoys outdoor activities, and a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog. An ideal home would also have an open conscience about the needs of street animals and a willingness to provide protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a commitment to hiring a trainer. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential.

Ongoing Health

Fernando Silverio has received a comprehensive health protocol including a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test and certificate, a negative heartworm test certificate, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection. He also has a health certificate and vaccine booklet. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past trauma and may not be house-trained.

Training & Support

Fernando Silverio is not house-trained. Rescued pets often require patience and understanding as they adapt to new environments and people. Building trust and a strong bond will be key. A consistent routine and clear boundaries will help him feel secure.

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• Submit photos and videos of your home as part of the adoption application.
• If a potential match, you will have a call or video chat to be introduced to the pet and have a virtual home tour.
• Twelve references will be spoken with.
• An adoption fee is collected upon approval, which helps cover vet care, vaccinations, microchipping, and food.

Transportation

Fernando Silverio is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is available for transport to the East Coast. Door-to-door delivery is available for a one-time transport fee of $400 USD. Transport is scheduled 3-4 times per year with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. A contracted transport company will collect pets in Mexico, and they will be accompanied across the border into Texas for US adoptions, or delivered to the nearest US-Canada border for Canadian adoptions. All necessary legal documents, including a transport contract, USDA health certificate, and health protocol certificates, will be provided. Adopters will be added to a private Facebook Messenger group for real-time updates on the pet's journey.
