Meet Reno!

Reno is a 2-year-old, 60 lb bundle of joy with a heart as big as his playful personality! He's lived with other large dogs, adults, and children of all ages, from newborns to teens. Reno loves to play with other dogs, though he can be a bit shy initially due to past experiences. Once he's comfortable, his fun-loving spirit truly shines! He's also a big fan of toys – balls, squeaky toys, tug toys, and bones are his absolute favorites. Reno enjoys digging and isn't a fan of rainy weather. He's house-trained with only occasional accidents and is crate-trained, often finding comfort in his crate when you're away.

Ideal Home

Reno would thrive with a family who can continue building his confidence and helping him polish his manners. A home that can provide love and structure will help him succeed.

Ongoing Health

Reno's adoption fee includes being neutered, vaccinated, flea & tick treated, microchipped, and tested for Lyme and HW. He tolerates baths, though he's not a fan of his feet being touched.

Training & Support

Reno is friendly and will announce visitors with a bark. He needs work on jumping up to greet people, but he already knows sit, down, stay, and give paw! He gets excited around dogs, people, kids, and cats. While he's lived around cats, he may chase outdoor cats and can be less friendly with unfamiliar cats. He also experiences anxiety and may tear things up if left loose when alone, so crating is recommended. Reno walks on a leash but tends to pull, so continued leash training will be beneficial. He can occasionally get jealous around other dogs.

Transporation

You can meet Reno at our shelter located at 9331 State Route 124 Hillsboro, OH. We are open Monday through Friday from 12 pm to 5 pm and Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before closing.
