PENELOPE (aka Penny)

Penelope, affectionately known as Penny, is an adorable 10-month-old Dachshund and Pug mix weighing about 14 pounds. She has a beautiful, low-maintenance black and brown brindle coat. Penny is an energetic puppy who loves to wrestle, run, and play, especially with her "sister" Dottie, who is also available for adoption. She's a little shy when meeting new people, but quickly warms up to become a very affectionate girl who loves to give kisses and snuggle. Penny rides well in the car and is eager for adventures with her new family.

Ideal Home

Penny would thrive in a home with another young and playful dog to be her companion. She also needs a securely fenced yard where she can play and do her business safely. A home where she won't be left alone during the day is essential; someone who works from home or an active retiree under 65 would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Penny is current on her Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines. She has been spayed and microchipped. She tested negative for heartworms and is on preventative medication.

Training & Support

Penny is doing very well with her housetraining and uses a doggie door. She currently sleeps in a crate at night without any issues. While she is not yet well-trained on a leash, she is a smart girl and will likely learn quickly with some guidance.

Transporation

Penny is located in North Carolina. Approved adopters must come to North Carolina to meet her and take her home.
