About Chromia
Meet Chromia! This adorable 15-pound, one-year-old chiweenie is looking for her forever home after successfully raising her puppies. Chromia has the softest velvety coat and a knack for melting hearts with her endearing eyes and cute forehead wrinkles. She's a silly, spunky, and incredibly sweet girl who loves to be close to her people, shower them with affection, and will happily whine for attention or to let you know what she wants – she can be quite the conversationalist! Chromia enjoys rolling over for belly rubs and dreams of being a spoiled little princess.
Her playful nature shines through when she's gently mouthing your fingers or chasing after a ball with bouncy enthusiasm. She's also a toy enthusiast, tossing them in the air and pouncing with glee. Chromia has some charming quirks, like carefully carrying her food bowl to her preferred dining spot and snuggling under the covers to sleep. When playing with other dogs, she makes funny noises and tucks her head upside down on the ground.
Chromia's journey began when she arrived at a California shelter heavily pregnant. She was quickly transported to safety, where she gave birth to three healthy puppies. She's been a patient and loving mother, and now that her little ones are grown, it's time for her new life to begin. She's already being fostered with three small dogs and enjoys their company, though she can be a little bossy and is good at letting them know her boundaries.
Having experienced motherhood, Chromia is now learning to navigate the world as a confident pup. She can be a bit nervous and shy when meeting new people, but her curiosity and treat motivation quickly win her over. Once she feels safe, she’ll melt into your arms for pets. When out and about, she stays close by your side, looking to you for support. With gentle encouragement, we're confident she'll soon see new people and dogs as friends to be made.
Ideal Home
Chromia would thrive in a home with a playful, easygoing small to medium-sized dog who can be her companion. A family that is patient, gentle, and committed to continuing her force-free positive training will help her blossom. She could also adapt to a home without other dogs, but will need support adjusting to being completely alone.
Ongoing Health
Chromia is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.
Training & Support
Chromia is learning to be a good dog citizen and can be a bit nervous and shy with new people and dogs. She is treat motivated and looks to her people for support. Continued positive reinforcement and encouragement will help her build confidence.
