Meet River!
River is a lively six-and-a-half-year-old American Pitbull Terrier mix with a shining golden coat and affectionate spirit. Weighing around 50 pounds, this medium-sized girl is a bundle of energy and devotion, always ready for an adventure with her favorite people. River adores human connection, especially bonding closely with men, and she's happiest when curling up under the covers after a fun-filled day.
Ideal Home
River thrives on activity and would love a family who enjoys running, hiking, swimming, or long walks. She needs a caring environment where she can be the only pet, as she needs space away from other animals and has shown strong reactivity toward cats and small dogs, with a past incident involving a cat. A pet-free home is essential. She would benefit from a confident, experienced pet parent who understands energetic dogs and can continue providing structure, guidance, and clear boundaries. Because she has limited experience with children and may not tolerate young children who are loud, grabby, or unpredictable, a home with teenagers or adults would be the best fit.
Ongoing Health
River experiences occasional skin sensitivity, which is well managed with vitamins, helping her stay comfortable and happy.
Training & Support
River has completed formal obedience training and knows commands such as sit, lay down, wait, and kennel up, showing her eagerness to learn and connect through positive reinforcement. She is also house-trained and comfortable being left alone for short periods. River may feel uneasy around loud noises like drills or hair dryers, but with understanding and support, she settles beautifully into a calm and cuddly companion.
