Jesse is an energetic girl who gets excited when it's time for a walk and can be strong on leash, so she'll do best with someone who can help her continue practicing her leash manners. Once she's had a chance to settle in, she loves relaxing while being brushed, soaking up one-on-one attention, and spending quality time with her favorite people. Volunteers describe her as incredibly sweet, eager for affection, and always ready to say hello. She's even known to sit nicely for treats! Jesse is currently heartworm positive, so she'll need a family who can help keep her activity calm while she completes treatment. This means no running, hiking, or rough play for now, but she's more than happy to spend that time soaking up affection and enjoying leisurely walks.
Training & Support
Jesse knows how to sit for treats and is treat-motivated. She would benefit from continued work on loose-leash walking and polite greetings. Like many enthusiastic dogs, Jesse can get a little bouncy when she's greets people, but her happy personality shines through in every interaction.
