Meet Roscoe, a gentle giant with a heart full of love waiting to be shared! Roscoe is a handsome male Great Pyrenees who is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. He came from a farm environment and can be a bit shy and cautious when meeting new people, but with a little patience and kindness, his sweet and loyal personality truly shines. Roscoe thrives on calm energy and understanding, and he needs a patient home where he can build trust and confidence at his own pace.
Ideal Home
Roscoe would do best with someone experienced with large breeds or rescue dogs who understands that progress takes time and consistency. He needs a quiet, patient home environment where he can feel secure. Great Pyrenees can be stubborn, prone to barking, and overly protective, and they cannot be trusted off-leash. You will not be able to train a Pyr to boundaries. While we don't have strict criteria, we do ask that applicants be at least 21 years old and have thoroughly researched the breed. We also typically avoid same-sex households as Pyrs often do not do well with other males. A visible fence is preferred for the yard.
Ongoing Health
All our dogs are up to date on age-appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, heartworm and lyme tested if 6 months or older, microchipped, and have a current health certificate. All dogs will be altered when adoption is finalized, which may involve young puppies being given until a certain age to be altered.
Training & Support
Proof of a basic obedience course completion is required as part of our adoption contract within six months.
