Little Lizzie

Little Lizzie was found in rural North Carolina and is now ready to find her new forever family! She's a sweet, curious, energetic, and playful 7-month-old puppy weighing 34 lbs. Lizzie is a chocolate lab mix, or possibly part Chesapeake Bay retriever. She's generally house-trained and can use a dog door. She is still learning to be comfortable in a crate, but will sleep in one if she's not alone in the room and usually sleeps through the night without needing to potty.

Ideal Home

Lizzie is still very much a puppy and loves to chew on toys! However, she needs to learn that shoes and other household items are not toys. She's also quick to slip through open doors and has figured out how to open cabinets, so she'll definitely need a home with extra patience and training. She's been friendly with everyone she's met and has had brief introductions to children on outings. Lizzie seems to do well with other dogs, but can be a little fearful of very large dogs. She loves to play with her foster siblings and barks at the feline members of the household, but with training, she would likely do well with cats.

Ongoing Health

Lizzie will be spayed prior to adoption.

Training & Support

Lizzie needs continued training to curb chewing on inappropriate items, prevent her from escaping through doors, and to help her understand boundaries with cabinets. She's still learning about crating, especially when left alone.
