Waylon

Waylon is a 3 ½-year-old Golden Retriever with a heart of gold and a personality that's truly starting to shine! When he first arrived at our rescue, he was in rough shape, suffering from severe skin issues and what we suspect was vision loss due to untreated diabetes. He moved like an old man, but we knew there was a young, vibrant dog underneath. We've since started him on insulin twice a day and thyroid medication, and his diabetes is now considered under control. After a much-needed nail trim and ruling out Cushing's disease, Waylon has gained a healthy six pounds and his goofy, playful spirit is front and center! He absolutely loves his toys, going for car rides, and leisurely strolls around the yard. We're so thrilled to see him thriving and in much better spirits! Waylon has an ophthalmologist consult scheduled for early June, and we are hopeful that we can restore his eyesight through further care or surgery. We're continuing to fundraise for his ongoing medical needs and potential eye procedures before he finds his forever home.
