Meet Trout! This handsome 2-year-old, 54lb pup somehow ended up on the euthanasia list at a local shelter, but thankfully, a wonderful foster mom stepped in to save his life. Trout is surprisingly chill for his athletic build. While he enjoys hikes and playdates with his doggy friends, his ultimate joy is relaxing upside down on the couch. He can be a bit shy when first meeting new people, needing a few moments to warm up, but once he trusts you, he's a loyal companion. He's house-trained, kennel-trained, walks well on a leash, and knows "sit." He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, but his fascination with squirrels and cats means he might not be best suited for a home with feline roommates. Trout's one tiny challenge is his extreme dislike of taking medicine – he's a master at spitting it out, no matter how well it's hidden! Trout dreams of a home that includes him in all sorts of adventures, from camping to cozy evenings by the fire. He is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be ready for his forever home in mid-to-late July.
Ideal Home
Trout would thrive in a home ready to include him in life's adventures, from camping trips to lazy evenings by the fire. He may not be the best fit for a home with cats.
Ongoing Health
Trout is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. He is fully vetted, neutered, and up-to-date on preventatives.
