Niko Bear the Easy Going Sweetheart

Niko Bear looks like he should have his own action movie – he's big, handsome, and covered in little scars that hint at a thousand adventures. But beneath that rugged exterior is one of the sweetest, gentlest souls you'll ever meet. He's a teddy bear in disguise, a gentle giant with a calm, easygoing nature. Niko is content to mosey through life at his own pace, enjoying quiet moments and the company of his people. He can take a little while to warm up to new people, but once he does, he'll lean his entire body weight into you for affection, melting your heart with his soft eyes.

Niko Bear is approximately 4 years old and weighs around 74 lbs. We believe he may be a Pittie/Shepherd mix, but with rescue, breed and age are always a mystery.

Ideal Home

Niko would be happiest in a home with a backyard where he can enjoy exploring and smelling the fresh air at his own pace. He would do best with another dog that shares his laid-back outlook on life – one that enjoys companionship without needing a constant playmate.

Ongoing Health

Niko is up-to-date on all vetting, including vaccinations and preventative care.

Training & Support

Niko is potty trained and has wonderful house manners. He is improving with crate training and is not destructive. He is working on his leash skills and is becoming more comfortable with a leash.

Transporation

Niko is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide via our rescue run USDA certified transport system. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
