Trudy Belle is a sweet 1-year-old, 8.5-pound pup who is as cute as a button! She loves to be near her people and will follow you around the house. While she's happy to be picked up, she's not a big fan of being carried. Trudy is a quiet girl who doesn't bark, but she does let out little whines to communicate when she needs to go outside or if she can't see you. She knows her name, "Belle," and the command "Come," though she's still working on her reliability with the latter.
Trudy is working on her potty training and has recently remembered how to use both the outdoors and pee pads. She has a small bladder, so a consistent schedule of taking her out every 2-4 hours will be ideal. She's not a fan of crates and can get a bit antsy if left alone, but she's not destructive when she can still see and hear her family. She's always lived with other dogs her size and we're unsure if she'd be okay as an only dog, as it might increase her separation anxiety.
Given the neglect she experienced in her first year, Trudy will need some time and patience to adjust to her new home. She might hide and be a bit shy for the first few days, so we recommend only leash walks during this adjustment period. She'll gradually warm up and become more comfortable hanging out with you. She may have some temporary setbacks with potty training and eating, but with a calm and sensitive approach, she'll get back on track. Leash walks are recommended even in a fenced yard.
Ideal Home
A home that can provide a consistent routine for potty breaks every 2-4 hours. A home with at least one other dog of similar size is preferred.
Ongoing Health
Trudy is up-to-date on vaccinations and is spayed.
Training & Support
Trudy knows her name and "Come," but needs continued reinforcement. She is not crate trained and may scratch at doors if left alone. She may regress with potty training and eating during her adjustment period, and leash walks are recommended.
