Gloria is a very sweet girl despite her painful history. Prior to coming to us, Gloria experienced a traumatic accident that resulted in part of her tail being pulled off. Once we pulled her into our program, one of our wonderful vets performed several surgeries to repair the extensive damage and an amazing foster family has been caring for her through a very tough healing process. She is now almost recovered and has gained weight and strength, and we can see her cute personality that the pain once masked! She is about 3 years old.
Ideal Home
Gloria would be a great outside dog, with proper shelter from the elements and a doggie playmate. She loves to play and is great with dogs of all sizes. She also loves to lay in the sun and nap. She appears to ignore cats.
Ongoing Health
Unfortunately, due to her accident, Gloria is experiencing nerve damage and unable to control her bowels. She is just unaware of when it is occurring. It is uncertain if she will ever regain this function or if this will be a permanent consequence of her accident. She does appear to have been house trained at one point and does urinate outside. Her tail is in the final stages of healing.
Training & Support
She has adjusted well to wearing a diaper inside at night. She does get excited and is learning not to jump when greeting her humans. Her foster mom will happily show you how to take care of her while her tail finishes healing. She is learning to fetch and enjoys getting her ears and belly rubbed.
