Cowboy

Cowboy is a brave survivor who has been through more than any dog should ever have to endure. He is approximately 2 years old and was found abandoned, tied to a pole and suffering from severe injuries. It's clear he was used as a bait dog, a target for cruelty, and then discarded. When he arrived at the shelter, he was terrified and in pain, but his spirit has begun to shine through. He has been neutered, is up to date on vaccines, and is receiving the medical care he needs. He is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm and is on the road to recovery. Cowboy is cautious with other dogs and may do best as the only pet in the home, allowing him to fully relax and feel safe. He also takes time to warm up to men, which is understandable given his past experiences. This resilient pup is now ready for a loving and secure forever home where he will never have to fear again.

Ideal Home

Cowboy may do best as an only dog, where he can feel secure and unburdened. He needs a patient and understanding home, especially when it comes to men, as he takes time to build trust.

Cowboy is heartworm positive but has already begun treatment and is on the path to recovery.

Cowboy needs a patient owner who can help him continue to build trust, especially with men. Providing a stable and loving environment will be key to his continued healing and adjustment.
