Trix is an 8-month-old, 35-pound Pitbull mix with the sweetest, smartest soul, though she's a bit shy! She and her brother were surrendered to a shelter and Trix was the more withdrawn of the two. While her brother has found a home, Trix needed extra time in foster care to build her confidence. She's undersocialized and fearful of humans, but she has never shown any reactivity like growling or nipping; she simply looks for a safe place to hide. Trix is incredibly observant, quiet, and learns very quickly – she figured out a doggy door in just a couple of days! With patience and intentional trust-building, she begins to soften and may even play with toys when she thinks no one is watching, run with other dogs, and eventually cuddle up with her humans.
Ideal Home
Trix will need a home where someone is around more often than not, as she's still a puppy and building trust takes time and consistency. She is not a ready-made confident dog; she's a diamond in the rough who requires patience, compassion, and commitment. She would likely thrive with a confident canine companion to follow and learn from, though adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence building.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned, but she is up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed.
Training & Support
Trix is housebroken, loves her crate, and is learning to walk on a leash. She has been around kids and was initially shy. Her journey will require patience to help her build trust and discover that the world is a safe and loving place.
