Polly is a one-year-old extraordinary young lady at a petite 18 lbs. She has a heart as big as her playful spirit. She is a true friend, offering unwavering loyalty and a curious, gentle nature. Her foster describes her as affectionate, lively, and bold, enjoying people and getting along well with other dogs. Polly seems to understand social cues from other dogs, knowing when they don't want to play or share. She's extremely food-motivated, which means she will snatch food from other dogs and is known to grab food from hands or plates. She currently eats separately to ensure she gets all the food! Polly is an excellent companion for sleeping on the bed and has shown no signs of resource guarding. She rarely barks, enjoys toys, and plays fetch with a ball. When she gets the zoomies, she's like the Tasmanian Devil! Polly enjoys and seeks out human company and loves being petted and held.
Ideal Home
Polly would thrive in a home that understands her food motivation. Because she is a food snatcher, she will not be adopted to families with young children.
Ongoing Health
Polly is vaccinated and will be microchipped. She will be spayed on July 29th and will be ready to start her new life shortly after.
Training & Support
Polly is still working on her house training, making it outside about 70% of the time. She has a tendency to "sneak poop" on the rug but shows a tremendous amount of guilt and regret when addressed. Leash training is also a work in progress, as she is not yet familiar with it, but she is making strides.

Transporation
Polly is located in Blacksburg, but can be transported to an approved adopter. Virtual meet and greets are available if an adopter is unable to travel.
