Meet Hope! This sweet girl was found at a local veterinarian's office at a young age, and the vet reached out to Wags to take her in. She's about 58 pounds and has a beautiful, shiny tan coat. Hope is a shy but incredibly sweet girl who can be a bit insecure around new people, especially tall men. She also displays some barrier aggression, which may stem from past abuse, but this has significantly improved since she's been in her foster home. Everyone at Wags loves Hope once they get to know her. She's been in a foster home for several months and is really thriving, with her barrier issues continuing to improve. While she's not a fan of cats, she's being socialized with other dogs and loves every dog she's met at her foster home. Hope enjoys swimming, running, and playing. She's learned some commands, comes when called, knows "sit," and is working on "down." She walks well on a leash and is a big love bug once she trusts you – she'll consider you her favorite person!
Ideal Home
Hope would do best in a home with a couple, either without children or with older children. An active couple who enjoys the outdoors, water, and nature would be a great fit, as those are all things Hope loves. A canine companion would be wonderful, but no cats, please! She does need a home with someone experienced with dogs who have trust issues with certain individuals.
