About Comet

Comet is a 3-year-old, neutered male, hound/retriever mix weighing 56 pounds. He's a sweet, affectionate boy who loves to cuddle and is eager to please. Comet was rescued from the streets and is now in a loving foster home, looking for his forever family. He has a balanced playstyle and enjoys running zoomies, with a high but not obnoxious energy level. He's fully house, crate, and leash trained, sleeps through the night in his kennel, and doesn't pull on the leash. Comet is also doing well with no accidents in the house and will alert you when he needs to go potty. He doesn't appear to have separation anxiety, but is crated when unsupervised due to his tendency to explore with his mouth.

Ideal Home

Comet would be happiest in a home with another friendly dog to be his sibling and playmate. He has done well with indoor cats and children, but due to a slight herding instinct, we recommend a home with children aged 10 years or older, or those who can understand and respect animal behavior cues. While he can be a bit wary of men, Comet adores his foster dad and will come around with patience and consistency from his new family.

Ongoing Health

Comet has no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Comet is fully house, crate, and leash trained and easy to train with positive reinforcement. He is a bit wary of men and may need some time and patience to build trust with male figures in his new home.
