SuperMax is a handsome 16-month-old, 75 lb athletic dog with a heart of gold! He was found all alone on a remote road on the Navajo reservation at about 8 weeks of age, and thankfully, he was rescued and brought to us. Max has been raised with immense care, setting him up for a long, healthy, and happy life. He enjoys a species-appropriate raw food diet and his teeth are immaculate thanks to a daily raw beef neck bone. Max has had a vasectomy, preserving his sex hormones which are crucial for proper musculoskeletal development and overall health. He gets plenty of exercise through off-leash desert treks, river romps, and town walks. Max is vaccinated for parvovirus, distemper, and canine hepatitis, and has been titer tested for these.
Max is a true sweetheart who adores his people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He's a perfect gentleman in public, unfazed by crowds, loud noises, or even thunder and fireworks. He's even remained calm around highly reactive dogs. Max has excellent house manners, never counter-surfs or resource guards, and is respectful of other dogs' food. He has never been crated and is well-behaved in the home. He also does not bother livestock.
Ideal Home
Max would love a family who will include him in as many activities as possible and take him everywhere they go. A younger dog sibling to play with would be a fantastic addition to the household. His ideal family will understand and appreciate the importance of keeping dogs unneutered for their health and lifespan, and be dedicated to providing a species-appropriate diet and informed approach to vaccinations, following the science of immunology. Snuggling with his people at night is a must!
Ongoing Health
Max's DNA health screening revealed one variant of the ATP7B gene, which can be associated with a higher risk of copper accumulation in the liver, particularly in Labrador Retrievers. He is intentionally fed a diet free from added synthetic copper and foods naturally high in copper. His liver markers were tested in February and were normal. Ongoing monitoring through a simple liver blood panel is recommended.
Training & Support
Max is a well-behaved boy with no known bad habits. He has great house manners and has been taught to be respectful of other animals.
