Meet George and Piper, a bonded pair looking for their forever home together! George is a three-year-old Great Pyrenees/Saint Bernard mix with a gentle soul and a towering presence. Piper is a two-year-old Pharaoh Hound/American Pitbull Terrier mix, a bundle of joy and affection.
George is a quiet, loyal companion who enjoys a calm environment. He's learned to trust and love over the past 15 months with his foster family and enjoys simply being near his people. Piper is the opposite, a social butterfly who loves to play, cuddle, and greet everyone with enthusiasm. She's house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic commands. George is also house-trained, knows several commands, and enjoys predictable routines. Piper’s presence brings out George’s playful side, and his calm demeanor helps her feel secure. They truly bring out the best in each other!
Ideal Home
George and Piper would thrive in a calm, structured home with plenty of space for George to roam. George needs a guardian who understands that building trust takes time and patience, and he is not suited for apartments or small condos. While Piper is good with children and other dogs, George requires slow introductions to new people and is sensitive to loud noises.
Ongoing Health
George and Piper are generally healthy. George had one fear-based bite incident during a meet-and-greet when a visitor moved too quickly into his space and patted his head, a sensitive area for him. He also snapped (without making contact) when a new person leaned in face-to-face in an unfamiliar environment. A professional trainer evaluated George and confirmed he is not aggressive but is a sensitive dog who needs space and time to feel safe. His trainers are offering support with video or phone consultations.
Training & Support
George is leash-savvy and knows commands like sit, down, shake, easy, and stay. He responds well to gentle guidance and clear routines. Piper is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows sit, down, and stay. She is sensitive to loud sounds like fireworks and thunder and will appreciate a cozy retreat.
