Pancake is a 59 lb terrier mix who is as sweet as her name suggests! She is incredibly affectionate, will happily rest her head on your lap, or army crawl her way to your side for some love. Pancake adores belly rubs and enjoys morning snuggles and playtime before breakfast. She's a good girl who sleeps soundly in her crate at night and can stay in it for a few hours during the day. Pancake is most active in the morning and settles down for the night around 9 pm.
Ideal Home
Pancake loves to "relocate" shoes to her dog bed and prefers to lounge on something soft rather than the floor. She's happy to join you on the couch if invited! She enjoys chewing on dog bones when she's not engaged with her toys. Pancake can entertain herself by tossing toys in the air and will happily play fetch with squeaky balls, though she prefers to bring them back to your general vicinity rather than dropping them at your feet. She's utterly fascinated by the water hose, but be aware she can play a bit roughly when overly excited, especially around it. Pancake understands when it's time to play and when to be calm. She's a fantastic traveler and enjoys car rides, calmly resting during the journey. Her favorite way to relax? Legs splayed out in a "froggy" position! She's house-trained when kept on a consistent schedule and will let you know it's potty time by climbing on you for kisses. While Pancake doesn't bark at people at the door, she can become fearful and bark if strangers enter the home.
Ongoing Health
Pancake has been spayed.
Training & Support
Pancake is not dog-aggressive, but slow introductions are recommended as she enjoys playing with friendly dogs. She has a habit of burying bones in the backyard and will issue a warning snap if they are guarded; to avoid this, she is given bones indoors. She does not guard her food bowl. Pancake knows how to sit, lay down, and wait at the door. She has excellent recall inside. She may jump when excited, especially for treats, but a simple "no jump" correction is effective. She'll pull on the leash for the first five minutes of a walk as she explores all the fascinating smells, but then settles into a more relaxed pace. Pancake is very smart and highly motivated by treats, making her a quick learner.
