Delaney is a 3-year-old, female Vizsla/Hound mix who is as friendly, loyal, and affectionate as they come! She came to us as an emaciated stray and, after receiving care at a municipal shelter and then with her loving foster family, she's almost back to her ideal weight. Delaney is a medium-large girl, weighing in at 57 lbs, and has a medium to high energy level. She is house-trained, crate-trained, microchipped, and up-to-date on her core vaccinations. Delaney walks beautifully on a loose leash and loves to explore the world at her own pace. She's happiest when she's simply by your side, whether that's on a walk, during playtime, a training session, or just relaxing together. While she might be a little reserved initially, Delaney is a soft-hearted girl who truly blossoms with patience and kindness. She already knows "sit" and "paw" and is highly food-motivated, making her a joy to train. And when you adopt Delaney, you're getting not one, but two new family members – Delaney and her beloved green snake stuffie!
Ideal Home
Delaney will thrive with an active family who enjoys walking and hiking. She would love a calm home with patient adopters, as a quieter, more predictable environment will be important for her confidence to continue growing. She is very social with her people and enjoys interacting through play and training. Delaney would do best with older children (10+ years old) who understand that slower and calmer is better. She would also do best in a home without shared walls, as she can be vocal at times. A backyard would be ideal for her, and an elevator may be intimidating. Delaney may do well with another pet in the home; if you have a pet, we will arrange for a meet and greet.

Delaney was found as an emaciated stray and has been nursed back to health. She is up-to-date on her core vaccinations and is microchipped.
Training & Support
Delaney is house-trained and crate-trained. She knows "sit" and "paw" and is very food-motivated, which will be a great asset for further training.
