Smokey

Smokey is a sweet, calm-demeanored girl who is decompressing and adjusting to home life in her temporary foster home. She's a quiet, velcro dog who is very smart and eager to please. Once she settles in, she could be a great running or hiking companion.

Ideal Home

Smokey would thrive with a patient, calm person who can help her adjust at her own pace. She needs a fenced yard and another kind, calm dog who isn't in her face. Older children would be fine, but Smokey is not recommended for toddlers. Her compatibility with cats is unknown.

Ongoing Health

Smokey is heartworm positive, but the rescue will cover the cost of her treatment. Her next and final treatments are scheduled for mid-July.

Training & Support

Manners classes are recommended for Smokey to help with social interactions.

Transporation

Smokey is currently in the St. Pete area. Rescue can provide heartworm treatment if relocated to the St. Pete/Tampa area. Smokey will be available for adoption in August.
