Victoria is a roughly 5-year-old, 48 lb female husky mix who was rescued from the streets of Saltillo, Mexico. She was found hungry, tired, and thirsty, and after being given some food, she waited patiently for her rescuer to return. She was brought into a home and initially slept for two days straight. After understanding the shelter routine, she received veterinary care and made a full recovery. Victoria arrived in a state of severe malnutrition, which the vet believes caused her to lose most of her teeth; she only has a few molars left and no fangs. Despite her past mistreatment, Victoria is a good, grateful, confident, and noble dog. She is sociable, playful, loving, and enjoys cuddles. She has a beautiful smile and is truly adorable. She is loyal and craves affection. Victoria is crate and leash trained. She has been spayed, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and tested negative for heartworm. She is up-to-date on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
Ideal Home
Victoria would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard, owned by active families who enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and long walks. A family with an open mind towards the needs and behaviors of rescued animals, with experience in dog behavior and training, and a high tolerance and patience for rescued dogs would be ideal. She needs to eat in a crate to prevent food guarding and potential fights. Victoria is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Victoria is missing most of her teeth due to severe malnutrition.
Training & Support
Victoria needs to be fed in a crate to prevent food guarding and potential fights. She is not house-trained and will require ongoing training and patience in this area.
