Miss DeeDee is a super-cute lady, just 3 years old and a Silky Terrier mix. She's looking for her forever home, ready to shower her chosen person with affection. Due to her past of being left in a basement for months, DeeDee takes a little time to warm up and let her guard down. However, with patience and a few tasty cookies, she blossoms into a devoted bestie who wants to be with you all the time. She's perfectly content in her crate when you need to step out, and will settle down after a bit of barking. DeeDee has high energy and a high prey drive, but she's also a lot of fun and playful!

Ideal Home

DeeDee needs a home with someone experienced with small dogs who understands her past trauma. She is an escape artist, so she must always be on a leash or in a securely fenced yard – no off-leash adventures. She does not like it when her bones are taken from her, and she needs to agree to be picked up, or it won't work out. DeeDee is not a good fit for homes with other dogs or pets, as she is too scared. She also cannot live with children due to her past experiences. DeeDee wants to be the only fur-child in the household.

Ongoing Health

DeeDee has received her rabies vaccination and is up-to-date on other standard vaccinations. She experiences "vet PTSD" and will require medication before vet visits or nail trims.

Training & Support

DeeDee is potty-trained. She needs a patient owner who can help her overcome her past traumas. Understanding her quirks and providing a safe, predictable environment will be key to her success.
