About Milo

Milo is a 45-pound, 7-year-old Husky mix who will immediately steal your heart. He came to us from a shelter where he was dropped off by his previous owner for developing glaucoma, which ultimately led to blindness. Milo’s disability doesn’t slow him down one bit! Most who come into contact with him don’t even notice he can’t see until it’s told to them. Calm-natured and gentle-mannered, this sweet boy makes friends easily with all humans. Milo is very well behaved, hardly ever barking and never engages in destructive behaviors. Milo will do just about anything for a good treat, and is very smart, making him easy to teach new tricks. He’ll be your loyal pal forever if given his favorites - peanut butter or beef marrow bones! Milo is low-energy, but does love to play with his human every now and again. Long walks and learning new tricks are among some of his favorite activities. Milo loves to be around his people, and enjoys all the snuggles he can get! However, Milo does just fine being left alone if needed and will happily greet you when you return. Milo is crate and house trained, and has not had an accident since being in our care. Though he is crate trained, his foster does not often crate him as he is calm and not destructive. Milo would need slow and proper introductions to other dogs in the home. He would need a friend who is low-medium energy and is patient with him, given his disability, which sometimes leads to him bumping into others/objects.

Ideal Home

Milo would do well in both a house or apartment building, as he is low-energy and rarely barks. He does love to spend time outdoors, so a fenced yard or balcony is a plus! He would need a friend who is low-medium energy and is patient with him.

Ongoing Health

Milo’s glaucoma requires daily eyedrops, which are necessary to prevent pain and disease progression.
