Meet Gemma!

Gemma is a 9-year-old, 13 lb Rat Terrier mix with a heart of gold and a bit of a dramatic flair, especially when it comes to damp grass! She's a wonderful mix of a couch potato and a tiny queen, who loves her routines and has strong opinions about comfort. At home, Gemma is incredibly affectionate and loyal, happiest when she's curled up with her people, enjoying a quiet day indoors. She adores snacks, cuddles, and receiving your full attention. Her foster describes her as having the sweetest little whine when she wants more affection, which is often, as Gemma believes cuddling is a full-time job!

Ideal Home

Gemma would thrive in a quiet, stable home with plenty of soft spots for napping and predictable routines. She's looking for an adult-only household, as she's not a fan of children. An adopter who understands and respects her boundaries, especially during mealtime, is key. She needs a home where she won't be picked up unexpectedly, allowing trust to build naturally.

Training & Support

Gemma is crate trained and walks nicely on a leash. She gets along well with calm dogs and cats. She does guard her food and needs to be fed separately with no disturbances while she eats. Excitable dogs who invade her personal space are not her preference.
