Chanel is a sweet, resilient 3 to 4-year-old terrier mix who has blossomed beautifully after a difficult start. She was abandoned and found herself on a euthanasia list at a crowded shelter in New Mexico. After being brought to Texas, she has transformed into a happy, energetic dog, even donating blood to help other animals in need. While her journey has been incredible, she is still learning to trust and is looking for a patient family to help her on her path. Chanel enjoys toys, especially soft squeakers, but can be a bit startled by loud noises and is still figuring out how to play. She can also be a bit flinchy when hands approach her, so a gentle and understanding environment where she can go at her own pace is essential for her to feel truly safe.
Ideal Home
Chanel would thrive in a home that can offer patience and understanding as she continues to build her confidence. She is looking for a canine companion to help her learn and grow, and a gentle environment where she can take things at her own pace.
Ongoing Health
Chanel is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, spay/neuter, flea prevention, heartworm testing and prevention, and micro-chipping.
Training & Support
Chanel is still working through past trauma and can be flinchy. She will need continued gentle training and positive reinforcement to help her build trust and learn to play. A patient family that understands her needs will be key to her success.
