Meet Gina! She's a delightful 1-year-old, 56lb Belgian Malinois mix with a heart full of love to give. Gina's journey started a little rough; she was found as a tiny puppy abandoned in a cardboard box near a busy road. Thankfully, a wonderful foster stepped in and has given her the chance to blossom into the sweet pup she is today! Gina absolutely adores her foster siblings, especially the smaller ones, and loves a good game of tug-of-war. While she can be a bit shy around unfamiliar, larger dogs due to a past negative experience, she coexists happily with small dogs (under 15 lbs) and large dogs (over 75 lbs) in her foster home. She's a toy enthusiast, often gathering her favorites into her bed, and enjoys playing fetch. Gina's still learning what's appropriate to chew on, so she'll need some guidance in her new home.
Ideal Home
Gina would thrive in an active household that can provide her with plenty of playtime and enrichment. She would do well with older, dog-savvy children (10 and up) who understand her size and enthusiasm. A home with another dog would be ideal to keep her company and help her burn off energy. Gina is too excited by neighborhood kitties, so a cat-free home is recommended.
Ongoing Health
Gina is a healthy young pup.
Training & Support
Gina is house and crate trained and can be left crated for up to 8 hours. She walks well on a leash and doesn't show signs of separation anxiety. She does prefer to eat her treats alone. As she's still in her "puppy velociraptor stage," she will need ongoing direction on appropriate chew toys. We are looking for adopters who will provide her with regular socialization and positive training to help her grow into a well-mannered adult.
