Meet Lily! This sweet, loving shepherd mix is 5 years old and weighs about 65 pounds. Lily was rescued from Mexico as a puppy and has a gentle soul. She can be a little timid when you first meet her, but she warms up quickly to those who show her kindness. Her favorite pastime is gazing into your eyes while you stroke her face. Lily also has a wonderfully goofy side; when she's excited, which is often about food or attention, her whole body wiggles as she shakes her tail!
She loves soaking up the sun or lounging by an open door to enjoy a fresh breeze and the sounds of nature. Lily enjoys walks but is also a bit of a homebody and can get tired on long hikes or runs. Loud noises like fireworks can startle her, and she'll seek comfort in a closet or pantry if she hears them.
Ideal Home
Lily would do best in a home where she can relax and feel secure. Given her reaction to fireworks, a home that can provide a quiet environment during loud events would be ideal. While she has done well with other dogs, she has not been around children or cats. She should do fine with older children!
Ongoing Health
Lily is spayed, healthy, and up to date on all her vaccines. A couple of years ago, she underwent knee surgery for a torn ACL ligament and has since recovered well. She experienced some joint pain for a period, but this seemed to resolve once she reached a healthier weight.
Training & Support
Lily is house-trained and knows some basic commands, making her very responsive to training, especially when food is involved!
