About Rook

Rook is a handsome, dark-coated boy with a gentle soul who is looking for a patient adopter willing to let him settle in at his own pace. He can be shy with new people and is cautious about being approached too quickly or picked up, so he'll need someone who understands that trust is earned, not rushed. Once Rook feels safe, his affectionate and loving personality begins to shine. He enjoys spending time outdoors, soaking up the sunshine, and relaxing with his people. He's incredibly social with other dogs and has yet to meet one he doesn't get along with. Rook is a huge fan of good treats, good smells, and good napping spots. He is about 6 years old.

Ideal Home

Rook would thrive in a home with other confident, friendly dogs who can help show him the ropes and build his confidence. He needs someone patient who understands that trust is earned, not rushed.

Ongoing Health

All dogs are spayed/neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption. Rook's house training is progressing well with a consistent crate and potty routine. He sleeps quietly through the night in his crate without a peep and settles nicely when given structure. Like many dogs adjusting to a new environment, he may mark indoors if given too much unsupervised freedom too soon, so continued management and routine will be important for his success. A belly band is a great training tool for adult neuter male dogs. Google their use as a training aid. With time post neuter those lapses have lessened weekly.

Training & Support

Rook needs continued management and routine to prevent marking indoors. A belly band is a great training tool for adult neuter male dogs.
