Buddy is a sweet 5-year-old Beagle who is looking for his second chance at forever. Life changed unexpectedly for Buddy when his previous family had to make a difficult decision due to a family member's extended recovery, and now he's seeking a loving and permanent home. Buddy is a devoted companion who thrives on being close to his people and being an integral part of the family. He's got a big personality packed into his Beagle frame – he's energetic, loves to play, and is happiest when he's getting plenty of exercise, enrichment, and attention.
Ideal Home
Buddy is looking for a home where someone is around most of the time, as he can experience anxiety when left alone. He would do best with a patient adopter who can help him build confidence and work through his separation anxiety. This energetic boy needs someone ready for walks, playtime, and helping him burn off his Beagle energy. Older children are recommended, as Buddy's enthusiastic zoomies could unintentionally knock over younger ones. He has not lived with cats and is not a fan when he sees them on walks, so a cat-free home is essential. Buddy is generally okay with other dogs, but a calm introduction is important due to a past scary dog attack that resulted in a partial ear loss. He would also be content as the sole canine companion.
Ongoing Health
Buddy has a condition called Beagle Pain Syndrome. While the name sounds daunting, it's a manageable condition. Approximately once a year, he may experience episodes where his joints hurt and he becomes less mobile. Medication helps control these episodes, and he requires it infrequently.
Training & Support
Buddy can be anxious when left alone and may chew on things when he's worried. He also has a very enthusiastic Beagle voice and wants to make sure his opinions are heard! A patient adopter who understands his needs, provides structure, and reminds him he is loved will be key to his success.

- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
- Our rescue is foster-based and cannot hold dogs for future adoption due to travel, home renovations, or schedule changes. Adopters must be prepared to welcome their new companion within a reasonable timeframe.
