About Cherry (Cher)

Cherry (Cher) is a shy yet charming canine on a journey to find a patient parent(s) with a relaxed lifestyle. She's looking for someone who can offer gentle guidance to help her come out of her shell. If you treat her sweetly and kindly, she promises to blossom in your care. Cher and her sister Sienna were rescued at the tender age of 5 months, after coming from a previously severely abusive home. They have unique needs stemming from their traumatic past, akin to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). While initially shy, these sisters have charming personalities that shine through once they feel safe and loved.

Ideal Home

Cher and her sister Sienna must be adopted together. Their ideal home will be with a family with personal experience in caring for abused dogs. A relaxed lifestyle is a must, and a minimum physical fence of 4 feet in height is mandatory and must be installed. Electric fences are not accepted.

Ongoing Health

All dogs and puppies have undergone temperament testing. They are microchipped for identification purposes. They have been tested for Heartworm, Ehrlichia, and Lyme disease. Each dog is on year-round Heartworm medication while in the rescue's care. They are up-to-date with Rabies, Bordetella, Distemper, Parvo, and Leptospirosis vaccines. They have been wormed. The adoption fee includes 30 days of FREE pet insurance, with an option to purchase additional coverage.

Training & Support

Cher is initially nervous around humans. With time and patience, she warms up and shows no aggression, only a deep longing for trust and love. She is looking for someone who can offer gentle guidance to help her come out of her shell.
