Abby (MD)

Abby is a sweet 5-year-old, 11 lb, black and tan miniature dachshund mix with a smooth coat. She was rescued from a shelter in Texas and has no further known history. Abby is active and playful with other dogs and absolutely adores human attention. She is not a fan of crates and will vocalize her displeasure if she can't see her people.

Ideal Home

Abby would do best in an experienced, all-adult home with a securely fenced yard (non-wire). She needs to be adopted by someone who is home frequently, as she suffers from separation anxiety. A dog buddy or two, preferably male, around her size, age, and energy level would be ideal. Abby is not suitable for homes with cats, children, or large dogs.

Ongoing Health

Abby is recovering from a skin issue and requires a daily dose of Apoquel. She has also had surgery to remove a stomach blockage due to chewing material and may require supervision around such items.

Training & Support

Abby experiences separation anxiety and dislikes crates. An at-home adopter is preferred, and she thrives with constant human companionship, including sleeping in bed with her people.

Transporation

Abby is located in Ellicott City, Maryland (10 miles south of Baltimore). Applicants must be willing to travel to this location to meet and adopt Abby.
