Meet Zoomer!
Zoomer is an almost 6-month-old Belgian Malinois mix looking for his forever home! This handsome boy was pulled from the euthanasia list at Memphis Animal Services and has been making the most of his second chance ever since. While Zoomer spent some time in the shelter, he has adapted wonderfully to home life and is ready to find a family of his own.
Zoomer is a fun-loving, active puppy who enjoys playing and exploring. As a Belgian Malinois mix, he is intelligent, eager to learn, and thrives when given both physical exercise and mental stimulation. He has done great with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion to play with. He has been around children ages 11 and up with no issues, and we believe he would do well in a home with kids. Like most puppies, Zoomer can get excited and occasionally jump up when greeting people, so he will benefit from continued training. We are already working on that, and he's eager to learn! He's also making great progress with house training. Zoomer goes outside to potty and has been doing very well with a consistent routine. We take him out first thing in the morning, when we return home, and regularly throughout the day to reinforce good habits. Zoomer is currently working on crate training as well. Like many puppies, he may whine or bark for a short time before settling down, but he's improving every day. He is let outside before being crated, and so far he has not had any accidents in his crate while we've been gone for a few hours or during the workday. One thing to know about Zoomer is that he isn't all puppy energy. He has a sweet, affectionate side too. He absolutely loves attention and being petted. In fact, as I'm writing this, he's curled up in my lap being a complete snuggle bug. Once he's gotten his playtime in, he's more than happy to cuddle up with his people and soak up all the love. Zoomer has already beaten the odds once. Now he's just waiting for the family who will give him the happy ending he deserves.
Ideal Home
Zoomer would thrive in a home with plenty of opportunities for physical and mental stimulation. He has done well with other dogs and children ages 11 and up, so he would likely do well in a similar environment.
Ongoing Health
Zoomer is up to date on vaccines and deworming. He is current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, and is heartworm negative. He is scheduled to be neutered on July 7th.
Training & Support
Zoomer can occasionally jump up when greeting people, so he will benefit from continued positive reinforcement training. He is making excellent progress with house training and crate training.
