Mabel is a truly heroic mama who, along with her best friend Betsy, was found in the wild with her six puppies. She's a hero of motherhood who has given everything to raise her beautiful litter. Now that her puppies are finding their forever homes, it's finally her turn to be cherished, spoiled, and rested. Ideal Home

Mabel can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but she has improved so much during her time in foster care. She can get spooked occasionally, and it might be a little difficult to get her corralled. However, she also has a very goofy side and will definitely bond with her humans. She can be a bit of an escape artist, so a secure yard is a must.

Ongoing Health

Mabel is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education and care. We will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians, and have already started her treatment process. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects.

Training & Support

Mabel is house and crate trained and is very treat motivated! She walks well with a harness and loves to explore with her sister, Betsy. She is medium in activity level. She can be quite playful and loves to play tag, but is also quite happy to snooze. With a proper introduction, Mabel is great with other dogs and will often play tag. She is also good with cats, having previously ignored a cat in her foster home. It will be important that any children in the house can respect her shyness and work with her.

Transporation

Mabel is located in Texas and can be transported to Colorado.
