Nova is a sweet 25-pound Chihuahua mix who found herself at risk in Stanislaus Modesto. Our shelter partners reached out to advocate for this little lady, and after watching her videos, we knew we had to help. Nova is estimated to be about 3 years old and is friendly with other dogs and people. She can be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take long before she’s asking for affection. Nova is the kind of dog who will steal your heart the second she leans into you. She’s incredibly affectionate, easily bonds with new people, and lives for snuggles. She’s smart, eager to learn, and absolutely loves toys, training, walks, and car rides. Out exploring the world, she truly shines. Nova is a fun little adventure companion who is going to be a once in a lifetime friend for one lucky family.
Ideal Home
Nova is looking for a dog experienced, adult only household. Apartment living or situations where she would need to be left alone frequently would be difficult for her. She may do best as an only dog or with a well-matched, balanced companion.
Ongoing Health
Nova is up to date on her core vaccinations, has been heartworm tested, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Nova experiences some separation anxiety and will do best in a home with a securely fenced yard. She is currently working through some resource guarding and is making good progress, but will need an experienced, committed owner who can continue that training and provide clear, consistent guidance.
