Ophelia is a super sweet, four-year-old, 5-pound Chihuahua with an adorable little face and the cutest tiny frame. This precious girl ended up at the shelter as a stray and was at risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding. Thankfully, she was transferred to our care and is now ready to find her forever home! Ophelia is a tiny lap dog who loves pets, cozy blankets, and finding the sunniest spot in the yard for a good nap. She is a little shy and low energy, and would be happy spending her day curled up with her person. She scarfs down her wet food but grazes on dry food through the day. She is starting to learn her name and show slight interest in toys.
Ideal Home
Ophelia would be happiest in a home where she can be your constant companion, warming your lap and occupying your sun spots. She is a quiet gal who enjoys gentle affection and a peaceful environment.
Ongoing Health
Ophelia's adoption fee includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations (Rabies and DPPV), preventative care, a heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and a recent health check with a veterinarian.
Training & Support
Ophelia does great in her crate and sleeps quietly through the night. She seems to have previous experience with potty training and goes immediately outside, but does best on a schedule. On leash, she doesn't pull at all but often pauses to investigate new sights and sounds before continuing to trot nicely beside you. She can be shy initially with new people, but quickly finds herself on their lap for pets. While she hasn't met other dogs, kids, or cats in foster care, she shows no reaction when seeing them outside.
