Story is a beautiful 4-year-old Mini Sheepadoodle weighing 30 pounds. Her heart is full of love, and she's searching for the right home where she can truly thrive. Story's journey to us comes with some sadness, but also an abundance of hope. Her previous family loved her deeply and did everything they could to make things work, seeking guidance from a behavioralist and exploring medication. However, with a young toddler and another baby on the way, it became clear that Story was feeling overwhelmed and struggling, making family life too stressful for everyone. With heavy hearts, they made the selfless decision to find her a home better suited to her needs. Story is not "broken" or "bad"; she simply needs an environment where she can feel safe, secure, and understood. Her previous family's growing family made her feel nervous and unsure. She has shown resource guarding behaviors around food and can be protective of her parents. In the right home, Story has so much love to give. She is a smart, loyal companion who bonds deeply with her people and will be happiest as a cherished member of a calm, structured household. She’s the kind of dog who wants to be close to you, sharing life’s quiet moments and offering unwavering devotion.
Ideal Home
Story needs an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy teens. Because of her resource guarding, we believe Story would be her best self in a home with no other pets. She will do best in a calm, structured household.
