Meet Charlie!
Charlie is a 4-year-old apricot Poodle weighing approximately 14 pounds, and he is an absolute sweetheart, he just sparkles.
After spending his entire life in a mass breeding facility, Charlie is bravely learning what it means to be a cherished family member. Every day he grows a little more confident. He has mastered the stairs in his foster home, goes up and down them with ease, and even uses the foam steps to hop on and off the couch like a pro.
Charlie is doing very well with his house training and loves nothing more than being with his person. Whether he's curled up beside you on the couch or snuggled in close, he is happiest when he's near the people he loves. He has a gentle, affectionate nature and is a true cuddle bug who thrives on companionship.
Charlie must have another friendly, confident dog in his forever home. Having a canine companion helps him feel safe and gives him someone to follow as he continues learning how to be a dog after spending four years living in a crate.
Charlie is most comfortable with women and will need a patient, understanding man who is willing to earn his trust at Charlie's pace. He is still nervous around men and can be frightened when someone reaches down to pick him up while standing. He feels much more comfortable when people get down to his level—sitting on the floor and allowing him to come to them. With kindness, consistency, and gentle leadership, Charlie continues to blossom every day.
If you're looking for a loyal little shadow with a brave heart, a gentle soul, and endless love to give, Charlie may just be the perfect addition to your family. â¤ï ̧
