About Artie
Artie is a 3-year-old, spayed female Terrier mix weighing 32 pounds. She's a fun-loving, high-energy girl who is always ready for her next adventure! Artie brings enthusiasm and joy wherever she goes, whether it's a long game of fetch, a run in the yard, or zooming around the house with her favorite toys. She's incredibly smart, playful, and affectionate, and she absolutely loves people, greeting strangers with pure excitement and a wagging tail. Artie is independent, outgoing, curious, and wonderfully silly, guaranteed to make you laugh daily, keep you moving, and then curl up beside you for snuggles. She is ready to find her forever family and bring her big personality and even bigger heart into a loving home.
Ideal Home
Artie thrives in an active environment and will do best with a family that enjoys walks, playtime, and outdoor activities. A yard or open space to run would be a huge bonus. She has done well with large dogs (50-100 lbs) in her foster home, though slow introductions are important. While she doesn't need another dog, she would likely enjoy a playful canine companion. She can be a little on edge at first and is protective of her toys, but she backs off quickly and has never escalated beyond that. She also recognizes when another dog is done playing. Her ideal home would be active, patient, and ready to continue her training, especially helping her learn to settle calmly and share toys more comfortably. She has not been around cats and hasn't spent time with children yet, but her friendly and affectionate personality suggests she could do well with proper introductions.
Ongoing Health
Artie is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Artie is house trained and crate trained, sleeping in her crate at night and staying crated about 4-6 hours during the day. She may whine a bit but settles. She should continue to be crated when left alone as she is curious and can get into things on counters if unsupervised. On leash, she may bark or pull when she sees other dogs, so continued training will help her polish those manners. She eats separately from other pets currently, though she has shown no food guarding toward people.
