Dakota

Meet Dakota, a distinguished gentleman who's navigating a significant life change. Dakota's world was turned upside down when his beloved owner passed away, leaving him feeling a bit lost. While his owner's caregiver tried to find him a new home, his barking in a new environment proved a bit overwhelming for that temporary placement, despite it only lasting 24 hours. Dakota is a senior boy who deserves patience and understanding as he adjusts to his new reality. He was originally adopted from a local rescue that is no longer in operation.

Ideal Home

Dakota would do best in a home without other dogs or very young children. He might be okay with older teens, and he is comfortable around people in wheelchairs.

Ongoing Health

Dakota is up to date on his vaccines and is neutered. As a senior, he is currently working on losing some weight.

Training & Support

Dakota's transition may require some patience and a calm environment. Given his past experience, he may benefit from continued positive reinforcement as he settles into his forever home.

Transporation

Dakota is currently in a foster home located in Colorado and Wyoming. While he dislikes getting into vehicles and needs assistance to be lifted in, transportation may be available to approved adopters within our geographic region.
