TEX (Loyal, Loving, Active--Fostering in Wayne, NJ)

Hi there! My name is Tex, and I'm a charming Cattle Dog/Corgi mix who's about 2 years and 8 months old. I'm a medium-sized pup, weighing in at 35 pounds, and I've been neutered, microchipped, and am up-to-date on my shots. I was found abandoned, but that hasn't dampened my spirit one bit! I'm a bundle of energy and cuddles, ready to find my forever family. You might notice my short legs in my pictures – they're perfect for my energetic prance! I'm a loyal and protective boy, always keeping an eye on my loved ones, but I warm up quickly and am full of charm once I know someone is a friend. I'm house and crate trained, leash savvy, and I absolutely love a good hike and car rides. When the adventure is over, I'm all about snuggling and being your loyal shadow. I'm also a pro at bath time, sitting perfectly still!

Ideal Home

I would thrive in a home with plenty of space to run, perhaps a farm or acreage, or at least access to trails for our adventures. Because I have herding instincts and can be a bit protective, I would do best in an all-adult household or with older, high school-aged children. I also need a home without cats, as I find them a bit too tempting to chase!

Ongoing Health

I'm currently healthy and up-to-date on all my vaccinations.

Training & Support

I'm already house and crate trained and am a smart, athletic boy who enjoys learning. I'm a "velcro dog" who loves to be close to my people, and I'm looking for a family that will appreciate my affectionate nature.
