TEX (Loyal, Loving, Active--Fostering in Wayne, NJ)

Tex is a 2-year-and-8-month-old, 35-pound Cattle Dog/Corgi mix who is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his shots. He might have short legs, but he has a huge personality! Tex is a wonderful mix of energy and cuddles, abandoned in a rural area but ready to move forward and find his forever family. He has a loyal and protective nature, keeping a watchful eye but quickly warming up to friends. Tex is house and crate trained, leash savvy, and an amazing car rider. He loves a good hike and would be the perfect partner for an active home, but he's also all about snuggling and downtime once the adventure is done. He's a classic "Velcro dog," happiest when he's close to his people, and he's also very good about bath time. While he's shy at first, he warms up quickly.

Ideal Home

Tex would love a farm, acreage, or a home with access to trails for his happy place. He would do best in an all-adult household or with high school-aged children due to his herding breed instincts. He cannot live with cats, as he finds them too tempting to chase.

Tex is neutered, microchipped, and current on all his vaccinations.

Training & Support

Tex is house and crate trained and leash savvy. He plays well with other dogs.
