Meet Myla, a beautiful Bluetick Coonhound with an enthusiastic spirit and a heart full of affection! Myla was rescued in September 2024 from the Cumberland County Shelter in Fayetteville, NC, where she was on the euthanasia list. She's a smart girl who loves to learn and is highly motivated by food. Her baying is a wonderful way she communicates her excitement, and she thrives with structure and enrichment. While not aggressive, Myla does have some behavioral sensitivities, including frustration with barriers and noise sensitivity. She's actively working with the NC State Behavioral Medicine team and has completed a board-and-train program. All professional reports are available to share.

Ideal Home

Myla would thrive in a committed, structured home with someone who understands hounds and enjoys training. She gets along well with other dogs and has been respectful of a bunny. She also tested indifferent to cats at the shelter.

Ongoing Health

Myla has a sensitive stomach and eats Purina HA prescription kibble.

Training & Support

Myla is actively working on managing frustration with barriers and noise sensitivity. Her successes with training and enrichment are well-documented, and she's eager to continue learning in a supportive environment.
