Meet Rusty
Rusty is a charming 2-year-old, 50-pound Cattle Dog mix with a heart full of potential. He has a gentle nature and a playful spirit, and with a little time and patience, he's blossoming into a wonderful companion. Rusty can be a bit shy when he first meets new people or experiences unfamiliar surroundings, but this is just his cautious side showing. Underneath that reserve is a sweet and silly boy who is making amazing progress. Witnessing him gain confidence, wag his tail, enjoy his toys, and learn to trust is truly rewarding. He enjoys the company of other dogs and would benefit from a confident canine friend to help him navigate the world. Rusty loves puzzle toys, chew toys, chicken treats, and his occasional Squishmallow, and he's discovering all the joys life has to offer.
Ideal Home
Rusty would thrive in an active yet patient home with a confident dog friend to show him the ropes. He needs a home that understands shy dogs and will allow him to settle in at his own pace. He would do best with older, dog-savvy children who can be patient and give him time to warm up.

Training & Support
Rusty is making excellent progress with leash walking, crate training, and potty training. He's a quick learner and responds well to positive reinforcement. He can be timid with new people and environments, but he approaches these situations with avoidance rather than aggression. Patience and continued positive reinforcement will help him continue to gain confidence.

Transporation
Rusty is located in Texas but can be adopted locally or out of state. We coordinate safe transport and offer video meet-and-greets to ensure it's the perfect fit.
