Nesta is a 3-year-old female Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, weighing around 50 pounds, who is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. She was found with her family living under an abandoned house and has since been rescued and is ready to find her forever home. Nesta is a gentle and sensitive soul, a bit shy and timid, especially with loud noises or sudden movements. She can be a bit hesitant initially, but with patience and gentle introductions, she blossoms into a playful and loving companion. She enjoys pets and will look up at you with sweet puppy-dog eyes, especially when she wants a treat. While she might retreat to her safe space (her crate) when people first arrive, she will eventually come out to greet them once she feels comfortable. Nesta is incredibly smart and picks up on new cues quickly, already knowing "sit." She's the type of dog who chooses you over time, and that bond is incredibly special.
Ideal Home
Nesta would thrive in a home with an experienced, patient adopter who understands shy or sensitive dogs. She needs a structured, calm environment with a consistent routine and guidance. She would do best with older children who can respect her boundaries and gentle nature. A home with a playful canine companion is a must, as she needs another dog to help her feel safe and confident. She would prefer a home without cats and is not suited for first-time dog owners or households with young children due to her timid nature and tendency to startle easily. A backyard where she can play is ideal, as she can be hesitant on leash.

Training & Support
Nesta is fully potty and crate trained and is sure to only go potty outside. She is crated when her foster mom is away for work or errands but can also be left out to free roam for short periods. She walks on a leash but is hesitant and timid. She needs continued guidance and consistency to build trust and decompress.
